- Scope of Services
Rowantree Media provides wedding video editing services, including (but not limited to) colour grading, audio mixing, and footage “restore” work.
The term “restore” does not guarantee a flawless restoration of problematic footage; it simply means we will do our utmost to improve its quality within reason.
- Project Fees & Payment
A non-refundable deposit of 50% may be required to secure your booking.
The remaining balance is due upon completion of the edit (or as otherwise agreed in writing).
If payment is not received within 7 days of the final invoice, Rowantree Media reserves the right to withhold delivery.
Prices quoted are valid for 7 days from the date of quotation unless stated otherwise.
- Product Expectations
Footage Quality:
Clients acknowledge that if they book a Standard (or similar) package knowing that the raw footage is of poor or challenging quality (e.g. underexposed, shaky, or incomplete), the resulting film may not meet higher production standards.
In such cases, Rowantree Media may offer the opportunity to upgrade to a more suitable package (e.g. The Restore) to achieve better results. We will discuss all available options with you before proceeding.Use of Commercial Music
Private Viewing Only: At your request, Rowantree Media may purchase and embed commercial tracks from iTunes (or a similar service) into your wedding film. This does not constitute a public performance licence. The resulting video is intended solely for private, personal viewing by you, your family, and friends.
No Public Distribution: If you wish to display or share the film publicly (e.g. on social media, YouTube, or at any event beyond personal gatherings), you must ensure that the necessary music licensing is in place.
Copyright & Liability: By asking Rowantree Media to use commercial music, you acknowledge that any public sharing without proper permission may infringe copyright. We cannot be held liable for any legal issues arising from unlicensed public use of copyrighted music.
- No Guarantees of Perfection
While we aim to produce a high-quality film aligned with the described package, we cannot promise a flawless outcome if the raw footage itself is compromised.
The term “restore” refers to our best efforts to stabilise, colour-correct, and otherwise enhance challenging footage.
- Final Delivery & Destruction of Footage
We only store raw footage for the duration of the editing process. Clients must not rely on us for backup—footage may be lost or damaged in the event of technical failures, and is never guaranteed to remain intact beyond the project’s completion.
Once a project is approved, all raw footage is destroyed or overwritten, in line with our privacy policy. We are not responsible for holding archival copies of your footage.
Revisions & Delivery
Unless agreed otherwise, each package includes up to two rounds of revisions.
Requests beyond the included revisions may incur additional fees.
Final delivery is made via cloud storage, accessible for up to two years (or until you download and confirm receipt). After that period, Rowantree Media may remove the file from our systems.
- Refunds & Cancellations
Refund Policy
Due to the bespoke nature of wedding video editing, full refunds are not generally offered once editing has begun.
We will, however, work with you to resolve any quality issues within the scope of the agreed revisions.
Refunds or partial refunds after final delivery are rare and granted only in exceptional circumstances—certainly not due to dissatisfaction arising from raw footage quality beyond our control.Cancellation by the Client
If you cancel before editing commences, we may refund part of your deposit at our discretion. However, any work already carried out will be charged for, and the deposit is typically non-refundable.
If you cancel after the majority of editing is complete, you remain liable for the full project fee.
- Liability & Limitations
Rowantree Media is not liable for any technical issues (e.g. damaged or corrupted footage) that occurred prior to receipt of the raw media.
If provided with footage or files, you warrant that you own all necessary rights or permissions to allow us to edit and deliver the final product.
In no event will Rowantree Media be liable for incidental or consequential damages, lost profits, or any indirect damages arising from the services provided.
- Force Majeure
Rowantree Media shall not be considered in breach of these Terms if the failure to perform is due to any event beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: Acts of God, Power outages, Third-party server failures.
- Amendments & Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time. We will endeavour to notify you of significant changes.
This agreement is governed by the laws of Scotland.
Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that region.
- Acceptance
By booking and/or paying the invoice, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
